Flagstones are a favourite
This cottage kitchen, painted in Little Greene’s French Grey (with Slaked Lime on the walls), made the most-saved Top 10.
So many wonderful elements make up this look – the salvaged oak floorboards used as shelving (whipped up by a local carpenter), the stable door leading to the garden, the white metro wall tiles, the polished Carrara marble worktop, and let’s not forget the smart riven slate floor from Mandarin Stone, which is a feature in itself… Which element had you clicking ‘Save’?

We can’t get enough of dogs
Any image with a cute pup in it gets plenty of likes on Houzz, but this kitchen has lots more going for it. This compact cabinet (complete with handy pet alcove), finished with a marble worktop, makes a useful addition nestled between the fridge and cooker. Not only does it provide ample storage and a handy prep area, it’s also right by the window, so the owners can enjoy the view while they work.
Cream schemes with red accents like this one are solid, popular choices for country kitchens.

We like a relaxed scheme
This style was a clear favourite. With its soft green cabinets, Belfast sink and those beautiful shutters, this kitchen has a serene, relaxed feel with a distinctly rustic flavour. It’s an easy look to achieve in any home – and a sure-fire way to turn your kitchen into a sanctuary.

Light and bright does it for us
We all seem to hanker after a breezy, sunshine-filled cooking area, with plenty of space to dine and gather, as well as to chop and bake. Lots of you thought this Shaker-style kitchen set-up had it all. With bifold doors opening out onto the garden, a generous kitchen island, and chic, oversized pendant lights, it ticks plenty of boxes.
The colour scheme is a favourite with Houzzers, too, with clean white, industrial chrome and sophisticated black doing their jobs undeniably well.

We can’t resist a country-style kitchen
Escaping to the country always makes our wish lists, and this kitchen encapsulates that dream beautifully. With its exposed beams, brick accent wall, larder, kitchen island with Belfast sink, plus plenty of space for an Aga, this room is just the thing to inspire you to get away from the rat race.
The solid English oak worktops and Farrow & Ball’s Dove Tale paint on the units received lots of love in the Comments section.

We’re quite keen on curves
It wasn’t only Shaker-style and country kitchens that grabbed your attention. This cosy room in a Georgian home in southwest England got a kitchen makeover that drew us all in with its inventive, curved, split-level island. The striking kitchen unit was designed and made bespoke, hand-painted in Farrow & Ball’s Oxford Stone, and topped with ‘river white’ polished granite worktops.

Galley kitchens get our attention
Many of you saved this image to your Ideabooks, showing how popular narrow kitchen solutions are. By keeping the scheme light and bright elsewhere, you can afford to add a streak of bold colour to a small space – as seen here with this vibrant, mint-green glass splashback by Saint-Gobain Planilaque.

Pale green is popular
Here’s another great example of an English country eat-in kitchen with Shaker-style cabinets. The palest green finish was a hot topic in the Comments section, and the paint in question? Farrow & Ball’s Vert de Terre.
With its beige tiles and natural pale wood table, this is an easy look to re-create, whether you’re in the countryside or heart of the city.

The breakfast bar is out in front
This butcher’s block-style bar table in an enviably long kitchen got you all saving this image to study later. The gorgeous oak stools by deVOL Kitchens were a hit, too, and add a modern rustic touch.
In fact, there’s something very contemporary about this mixture of Shaker kitchen, country-style, pared-back white and those wonderful pendant lights. A traditional look reworked for the 2010s.
